PADI Discover Scuba Diving

Discover scuba diving, and start your journey exploring the wonders held within our ocean. If you are curious and want to try scuba diving, but you’re not quite sure if it is for you, Ocean Wonder Dive Center offers the PADI® Discover Scuba Diving experience. Consisting of a short but instructive lesson in the pool, with one or two optional open water dives in the crystalline waters of Jambiani, it’s an easy way see if you like scuba diving. During the pool session, you will learn the basic safety guidelines and the skills needed to undertake your first supervised open water dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.

Our Discover open water dives take place along the Jambiani coast, where you can dive as deep as 12m/40ft, and experience first hand our exceptional coral gardens, which are home to a diverse range of our ocean’s most beautiful aquatic friends. To sign up for our PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. While no prior experience with scuba diving is required, you should be in reasonable physical health. We provide all the basic scuba gear you need, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, dive gauges, wet suit and a tank.

The Discover Scuba Diving experience can also be used as the starting point for your PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification. Ask us about options!

PADI Open Water Course

The most popular and widely recognized scuba course. Begin with the PADI eLearing. Organized over five chapters, each section builds knowledge through videos, reading, short quizzes and a final exam. Working at your own pace, five confined water (pool sessions) build up your practical experience. Four open water dives will follow: The first two up to 12m and the third and fourth up to 18m depth, allowing you demonstrate the skills you learned and trained for in the pool, while also exploring our beautiful coral reefs and lagoons. Having earned your PADI Open Water certificate, you can dive with a buddy up to a maximum depth of 18m/60ft, purchase scuba equipment and book diving excursions worldwide. You can also continue your diver training adventures with Ocean Wonder, or at any PADI Dive Center.

To sign up, you must be at least 10 years old, in reasonable physical health, swim 200m, and float for 10 minutes.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

Improve your skills with the PADI Advanced Open Water Course! Explore our beautiful reef while increasing your diving skills and knowledge. The course consists of five open water dives and eLearning exercises. For every chapter, there is a small knowledge review like a quizze, but no final exam to pass. You’ll practice navigation and buoyancy and you will try deep diving.

Three of the open water dives are chosen by yourself! Adventure Dives available at our Ocean Wonder Dive Center include:

The PADI Advanced Open Water Course provides divers with a structured means to explore special diving interest and gain dive experience in particular activities. The Advanced Open Water certificate allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 30m always with a buddy certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30m independently of a PADI professional.
